There are two Student Scientific Circles at the Institute of Thermal Technology:

The membership is voluntary; a declaration to be completed is available on the Circle home page. The aims of the Circle are:
- further study of thermal engineering and related issues
- research work
- organizing scientific seminars
- organizing contacts with the industry and research institutions
- integration of the academic community

Scientific Circle of Environmental Engineering in Energy Industry and Transportation

The membership of the Circle is for every student of the specializations: Environmental Engineering in Energy Management and Mechanization and Balanced Technologies of Environmental Protection. The aims of the Circle are:
- further study of the subject range represented by the Circle
- promotion of individual scientific interests of the members
- exchange of scientific experience and presentation of scientific achievements
- preparation for independence in professional life
- promotion of the Institute of Thermal Technology and the Faculty of Energy and Environmental
- Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology
- improving the knowledge of foreign languages
